There are four forms for your own conversations, and two questions tell you which one you need. A fifth form, Share, is used only when Caveris invites you.
1Is this a practice conversation, or a real one with a client?
- Practice or role-play → Field Reflection
- A real conversation → go to question 2
2Has the real conversation ended, or is it still going?
- It has ended → Reflection
- It is still going → Orientation. When it ends, finish it with a Closeout.
◆Field Reflection · practice
- Use it for
- A practice scenario, or a role-play of your own. Nothing is on the line.
- Who can use it
- Anyone. You need only your name and email.
- What you write
- Five short questions: what you noticed, what you made of it, what you did, and what happened next.
- What comes back
- Four sentences: the signal, the read, the move, and one question to take into your next conversation.
- Cost
- Included on every plan, as often as you like.
◆Reflection · a conversation that has ended
- Use it for
- A real conversation with a client that is over.
- Who can use it
- A professional with a Caveris account.
- What you write
- Answer five short questions, or write what happened in your own words and check how it was sorted before anything is read.
- What comes back
- The whole conversation read from start to finish, the point where it first went wrong, and the one thing to work on next.
- Cost
- One Reflection from your monthly allowance.
◆Orientation · a conversation still going
- Use it for
- A real situation you are in the middle of.
- Who can use it
- A professional with a Caveris account.
- What you write
- The same five questions or your own words, and what you are thinking of doing next. You also say whether you most need direction or clarity.
- What comes back
- Where the client is now, the direction the conversation needs, and what to watch for.
- Cost
- One Reflection from your monthly allowance.
◆Closeout · finishing an Orientation
- Use it for
- An Orientation whose situation has now ended. It is not a new conversation. It completes the one you already sent.
- Who can use it
- The professional who sent the Orientation.
- What you write
- Only what could not be known before: whether you made the move you planned, what happened, and where it turned. What you wrote in the Orientation is kept as you wrote it, and not asked again.
- What comes back
- The full Reflection, which compares what happened with what you expected.
- Cost
- No extra cost. If you close it out in the same month you sent the Orientation, the Orientation is not counted against your allowance.
◆Share · by invitation
- Use it for
- One real conversation you handled well, when Caveris has invited you to share it.
- Who can use it
- Anyone with an invitation code. The code is in your invitation.
- What you write
- Five short questions: the setting, what the client said or did, what you said or did, what happened next, and how it ended.
- What comes back
- A short Reflection of that moment, sent by email once the group of conversations is complete.
- Cost
- Free.
◆Before you send a real conversation
Remove anything that could identify your client: names, addresses, dates, and any detail that points to one person. The Reflection, Orientation and Closeout pages check what you write as you type, and show you what they found before you send.
Signed in to Caveris, you find the same forms under New conversation, and every Reflection and Orientation under My conversations.
